The Davis Cup Finals lineup is set after qualifying concluded this past weekend. Joining three-time defending champion Italy in Bologna are Canada, Spain, Germany, Czechia, Great Britain, Austria, and Korea Republic.

Canada swept all three singles rubbers against France, thus making a doubles loss a non-factor. Felix Auger-Aliassime played three matches at the Videotron Center in Quebec, recovering from a doubles setback with Duncan Chan to provide the clinching point with a 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 victory over Arthur Rinderknech. The world No. 5 beat Quentin Halys in a three-setter on Day 1.

Meanwhile, Holger Rune’s comeback to tennis in Denmark’s World Group 1 tie against Bulgaria could not have gone any better. Rune, who had been sidelined by a torn Achilles’ since last October, kept his country alive by outlasting Grigor Dimitrov in a final-set tiebreaker. Elmer Moeller proceeded to get the Danes across the finish line and into the 2027 qualifiers by cruising past Iliyan Radulov 6-2, 6-4.

It was a perfect weekend for Rune in front of the home crowd, as he also beat Radulov 6-3, 6-3 on Day 1.
