Monday Night Football in Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season is a massive matchup in the NFC between the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions. Both teams are in the mix for either a division title or a wild-card spot in the playoffs. Dallas comes in with a 6-5-1 record, while Detroit registers at 7-5.

Let’s dive into my Cowboys vs. Lions predictions.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions odds

Money line: Cowboys +142 / Lions -170
Spread: Cowboys +3 (-108) / Lions -3 (+112)
Total: Over 54.5 (-110) / Under 54.5 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions best bet #1: Cowboys +3 (-110)

Their records may be similar, but this is a tale of two teams going in opposite directions. The Cowboys are surging, winners of three straight — including two over last season’s Super Bowl participants in Kansas City and Philadelphia. Dallas’ defense has improved dramatically since the trade deadline, largely due to the arrival of star tackle Quinnen Williams. With some pressure finally being taken off the offense, Dak Prescott and company are rolling. Prescott is playing at an MVP level, receiver George Pickens has been sensational in his first year with the Cowboys, and CeeDee Lamb has quietly been productive — especially during this winning streak — despite being overshadowed by Pickens.

Detroit, on the other hand, is 3-4 in its last seven contests after starting the 2025 campaign 4-1. Adding insult to injury (or vice versa), WR Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered an ankle injury in a Thanksgiving loss to Green Bay and is questionable for Thursday. It sounds like he is trending toward not playing. TE Sam LaPorta is done for the year and even backup TE Brock Wright (neck) is out. The Lions are also extremely banged up on the offensive line. A three-point spread suggests that this would be an even matchup on a neutral field. Right now, though, it looks like Dallas is clearly the superior side. The visitors should cover and perhaps even win outright.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions best player prop bet: George Pickens Over 80.5 receiving yards (-114)

Pickens has exceeded this number in six of the last nine games, and two of the three exceptions saw him finish with 78 and 79 yards. The bottom line is that Pickens has not had a bad game since Week 1 against Philadelphia. His hot streak features four performances with at least 134 yards, including at least 144 yards in two of the past three weeks.

There is no reason to think that the Georgia product will slow down against Detroit, which allows the ninth-most yards per pass attempt in the NFL (7.2). In the last two weeks it has surrendered 234 passing yards to Green Bay’s Jordan Love and 366 to Jameis Winston of the Giants. The Lions are, however, decent at defending tight ends. They allow the 12th-fewest fantasy points and the fifth-fewest number of catches to opposing TEs. That means Jake Ferguson may endure some tough sledding on Thursday, in which case Pickens (and Lamb) would once again have to step up.
