Based on current form, Luciano Darderi and Sebastian Baez are arguably the two best players making the rounds on the Golden Swing this season. As such, it’s no surprise that they will square off in the Argentina Open semifinals on Saturday.
Baez leads the head-to-head series 4-3, but Darderi has won their last two meetings — 6-0, 6-2 in the Bastad final last summer and 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the recent Australian Open.
Given those results as well as Darderi’s scorching-hot form dating back to 2025, he should have a slight edge in this one. He is on a 16-match clay-court winning streak, a stretch that includes two ATP titles and one triumph on the Challenger Tour.

I think that Baez has another edge in his favor that he is going to be local so I would say that he wins this match 2-1 in sets ….Vamos Baez !!!
I think that Baez had another edge that you are not counting with that is his locally playing in Buenos Aires Argentina …and that has the people’s support that count very much!
Good point, but that hasn’t helped him win this tourney before. Because it is DARDERI (the guy who some look as a traitor for going to rep Italy instead of Argentina), the crowd will firmly be behind him. It will be absolute cinema
