Francisco Cerundolo Under 16.5 games won vs. Taylor Fritz (-110) – This should set up nicely for total domination on Fritz’s part. The American has home-court advantage at a tournament in which he reached the final in 2024. Cerundolo, on the other hand, has never done much of anything in New York. In fact, his hard-court results have underwhelmed just about everywhere throughout his career other than in Miami. Moreover, the Argentine is coming off a five-set battle against Jan-Lennard Struff on Thursday. Fritz has endured no such battles so far in New York — and that’s an understatement. He erased Darwin Blanch 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 and then humiliated Mattia Bellucci 6-0, 6-1, 6-1. The world No. 10 is well rested, in outstanding form, and playing on a surface that favors him.
Iva Jovic over Alexandra Eala (-118) – Although the sample size is still relatively small between these two good friends and rising stars, it has certainly gone in Jovic’s favor so far. The American is 2-0 overall at Eala’s expense and 4-0 in total sets following romps at the French Open (6-4, 6-2) and Queen’s Club (6-2, 6-2). Following wins on clay and grass, Jovic can complete the surface sweep on hard courts. Although Eala always gets a ton of crowd support, she won’t get quite as much against Jovic on the American’s home turf. Eala has been in slightly superior form of late, but this is her 13th match of the hard-court summer. That’s a lot of wear and tear on the the 21-year-old Filipino. By contrast, this is Jovic’s eighth match during the same stretch.
Flavio Cobolli over Alexander Blockx (-110) – They just faced each other in Cincinnati, where Cobolli prevailed 7-5, 4-6, 7-5. If the Italian can get the job done in that spot, you have to think he will like his chances on the big stage of a Grand Slam and in a best-of-five situation. After all, Cobolli finished runner-up at the French Open this spring and is back-to-back Wimbledon quarterfinalist. Blockx lost in qualifying at all four slams last year and had won just a single main-draw match at a major (2026 French Open) prior to this fortnight.

Zhang should win comfortably
bad surface for Kovacevic, very good for Zhang. Kovacevic only beat Thompson in Acapulco because Thompson was gassed.
Mensik is a great talent and played extremely well. Hurkacz’s serve will probably be the difference.
Norrie is in great form, so will be interesting to see how this one pans out.
