No. 8 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is the only seed remaining in Basel, where he will go up against Ugo Humbert on semifinal Saturday. Joao Fonseca and Jaume Munar are also bidding for a spot in the title match.
Ugo Humbert vs. (8) Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
Davidovich Fokina and Humbert will be squaring off for the fifth time in their careers and for the fourth time indoors when they meet again in the semifinals of the Swiss Indoors Basel on Saturday. They have split their four previous encounters, although Davidovich Fokina leads the head-to-head series 2-1 at the ATP level. Humbert has won two of their three indoor contests after most recently prevailing in straight sets at the 2024 Marseille event.
Humbert was mostly outstanding throughout last season, but 2025 has been Davidovich Fokina’s year. The 18th-ranked Spaniard has posted three runner-up finishes; now he has given himself another shot at an elusive first ATP title with Basel victories over Lorenzo Sonego, Jenson Brooksby, and Stockholm champion Casper Ruud. Davidovich Fokina got a retirement from Ruud following a tight first set, and his reward is a matchup with the Stockholm runner-up. In other words, some wear and tear could also be a negative factor for Humbert. The 24th-ranked Frenchman has done well to defeat Sebastian Korda, Taylor Fritz, and Reilly Opelka, but a slight edge may got to a more rested Davidovich Fokina.

Joao Fonseca vs. Jaume Munar
It will be an all-unseeded affair when Fonseca and Munar collide for the first time on Saturday. Fonseca wrapped up last season with an indoor title at the NextGen ATP Finals and now the Brazilian is making gains at the end of 2025 in Basel. He secured his spot in the last four by beating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and getting a walkover and a retirement from Jakub Mensik and Denis Shapovalov, respectively (Fonseca was leading Shapovalov 4-1 in the third set).
Munar also got a retirement on Friday while leading two-time Basel champ Felix Auger-Aliassime by a set. The 42nd-ranked Spaniard has been clinical so far this week, having also knocked off Remy Bertola and Ben Shelton in routine straight sets. Munar has been stellar in 2025 and he is underrated on hard courts, so this result is far from shocking–even if it is at least somewhat surprising. Fonseca obviously wields superior firepower, but Munar is a far more solid player at this point in their careers and may be able to get enough balls back to break down the 19-year-old in the end.
