      • Well, I don’t suggest anyone believe me! Not after my mistakes picking US Open. But I’m not convinced of Goffin making it from that quarter with his draw. Almost picked F-lo to come through.

Who do you have Hawkie. For reals…not your Fed bracket πŸ˜‰

        • For reals reals?

I think it’s more wide open than it’s been since The Big Four began. Murray has never won it so he’s not a given. Nole’s been in space for the last seven months. Rafa’s Rafa. CB is CB. Raonic has a chance. And Fed is in the running because of that, his confidence, draw and preferred scheduling. Plus the courts are playing faster.

For what it’s worth, my preferred order of who I’s like to win of realistic contenders?

          Rafa
          Nole
          Milos
          Murray
          Nishi
          Anyone but Fed
          Anyone but CB

          • Well, thanks for replying. I’ll have to see it to believe it about Fed, Hawk. Can’t see him making past Berdych in a Bo5.
Agree that it does feel more open than it has in the past but REALLY OPEN = WTA! πŸ˜€

      • It’s distressing that Goffin has Reilly Opalka first roun. That kid is massive and maybe the best 7 foot giant yet. Then Goffin has Stepanek and Karlovic before he meets presumably Thiem. If Thiem makes it that far I think Thiem will be in better shape. If Goffin had Thiem’s draw, I’d pick him. I could be overestimating the stress of playing both match hardened qualifier Opalka and old Dr Ivo.

    • We all reach a limit and I understand yours because I know you. ?
I’ve felt the same way about other match-ups. But I do think Andy has a real shot at winning. And then, how Happy I hope you are!

    • Dont know how and why I woke up like that at 3 am, but you are welcome, Alison.
FB has turned out to be a good thing right now.

  2. Although I try to keep my expectations low on Rafa, I count on several things to contribute to Rafa surprising us all and doing better than we might think:
    1. Rafa likes playing underdog role! He will be under little pressure given that nobody expects him to do well here coming back from a lay off time and thus with insufficient match play, following yet another loss of the match he should have won in Brisbane!
    2. Toni’s take on Rafa’s practice sessions is more than encouraging! I trust Uncle T and hope Rafa is ready as far as his game is concerned!
    3. Rafa has no points to defend and he can gain a lot with every win! He will be hungry!
    4. Rafa likes heat in Australia whereas Zverev (his major third round threat) will not enjoy that much sweating under Melbourne sun. I trust Rafa is physically fit and healthy and it remains that way!

    Vamos Rafa!

  3. RC Its opened up a whole new world for me, making new friends, although we have friends all over the country already due to the life style we lead, ive also made contact again with old fiends, and friended people from these forums, glad you, Oke and AndyMira are there too CHEERS πŸ˜‰

  4. HE I Couldve said i told you so a million times to various people, but i dont believe in it, because these things have a nasty habit of coming back to bite you on the backside, the thing is with know alls they obviously dont know it all as they dont know how annoying they sound ….

  5. HE Just to say i dont actually care who wins between Federer and Berdych, it doesnt matter to me one way or the other, im not a fan of either, just thought Federer might be rusty ….
