The king of indoor tennis is back on his throne in Montpellier.
Felix Auger-Aliassime won his ninth ATP title and eighth indoors when he defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-6(4) in the Open Occitanie final on Sunday afternoon. Auger-Aliassime reeled off the last five points of the match after trailing 4-2 in the second-set tiebreaker. He triumphed after one hour and 35 minutes for his second consecutive Montpellier trophy.
“Adrian is always a very tough opponent to play, for all players, I think,” Auger-Aliassime said during his on-court interview. “That’s why myself and all our peers on tour have so much respect for him and the challenge he poses on the court. I knew it was going to be a tough match today, so I’m very happy. It’s amazing emotions to win again here. I’m thrilled with my whole week and especially today.”
The Canadian’s nine titles have all come since the start of 2022, including three last season. His only outdoor title is from the 2025 Adelaide International.
Auger-Aliassime now heads to the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, where he captured his first-ever ATP title. The world No. 8 is the second seed in a stacked field behind Alex de Minaur, with Daniil Medvevdev and Alexander Bublik also among the contenders.
