Bryan and Sock masters of match points en route to Wimbledon title

Mike Bryan and Jack Sock clinched their last two wins in incredible fashion as they teamed up to captured the Wimbledon doubles title. Bryan and Sock capped off their run with a 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 victory over Raveen Klaasen and Michael Venus on Saturday.

The American duo remained alive earlier in the week by surviving another thriller against Dominic Inglot and Franko Skugor by a 6-3, 6-1, 6-7(11), 6-7(4), 6-4 margin. In that semifinal, Bryan and Sock sealed the win in stunning fashion.

They converted championship point against Klaasen and Venus in a little bit less spectacular fashion, but still the net reflexes showcased by Sock provided an impressive exclamation point.

  1. Maybe Sock should just stick to doubles? His willingness to compete is clearly really high in doubles, but it is absolutely NONEXISTENT in singles now… It’s such stark contrast, like night and day.

    • I’ve been saying that all year. Maybe Sock has a fitness problem in singles? But in doubles he wins with just about any partner. Anyway, congrats to him and Mike Bryan!
