  1. Nice picks for the first round, but I totale disagree with Laaksonen over Milman in 3. Laaksonen almost crashed in qualification and was quite uninspired.

And I think Khachanov will cruise against Harris – can‘t imagine Harris to win against the silver medalist.

  2. I said Djokovic playing the Olympics would come at a cost before and after the event, and I’ll stand by that prediction. Mental fatigue in professional sport and at 34+ is not something you can rectify with a couple of months rest IMO. Combined with the warm weather and humidity at this event, I think the probability of him winning is lower than many expect. The other players know he’s vulnerable after losing to both Zverev and Carreno and will be testing his limits as well.

He does have a relatively easy draw, however.

  3. I’ll tip Zverev or Medvedev. Medvedev will realize he had a brain snap against Rublev and will be looking to make amends with his concentration levels and there’s reason why Zverev’s good form wont continue and will be looking to improve on last year’s result.

    • Hehehe…Yess M!!😄..I noticed,We always did that!😆..and u made a couple of brilliant picking M!…Laaksonen over Millman??I mean,this guy is vanished from main draw for ages!..and u just picked him!…brilliant picking M!😃👍

Anyway, very disappointed to c Andy lost…I had hope he will beat Tsitsi after watching the brat took another long toilet break(to disrupt his opponent’s rythmn maybe?)..too bad Andy failed!..but it was an awesome match from Andy!..Gud job Andy!

      • Thank you, darling. Wow! Andy was cross, seems to think ST’s toilet break cost him the match. Unfortunately does look like “sour grapes.”

  4. I didn’t pick Nole for once( though I delighted if he won)
Just feel it’s Meddys time and Djoko will be under such pressure don’t think anyone could cope with it not even him

  5. My feeling is that IF Novak makes the final, he will win.

Good start for Rublev. He took the first set off Karlovic. Karlovic is serving ahead in the 2nd set. Rublev can’t lose his serve or this will go 5 sets, I’m afraid.

    • Think you right, with his experience in Slams he should win the final. Its very unusual for me not to pick him though , and if he wins, Ill not give a jot about this bracket.
I was tempted to have Opelka going far but PCB in that section instead.I dont trust Shapo . I did have Isner in the QF which would be unusual he doesnt like the humidity or long matches.
Apart from that pretty standard picks.

      • There are many problems to solve before he wins. First thing, he has to have the strength and ability to get free points with his serve. I see his draw as hard, of course. I had him losing to Hukacz, then Zverev coasts to the final and beats Medvedev, (not that I like Zverev more than Meddy).

They just showed Aga Radwanska in the stands! sorry, I miss Aga!

Anyway, I decided to back Novak.

        • Just heard the courts are really fast, I think that would suit players like Murray , Osaka and Meddy, but not Tstisi or Djoko –
As I watch,Tsitsi breaks fourth set

    • Sanju,

That’s what I was thinking when I picked my bracket. Basing that on not enough rest time since he was unable to win a medal in Tokyo. And I would have picked Medvedev or Zverev, probably Zverev.

It felt wrong to pick against Novak.
What would have felt good today? Andy winning in 3 sets.
