    • Why? Novak is quite fit. He’s not going to be tired out from a match like this. In fact, it could be quite the opposite. Since he hasn’t played any matches prior to Wimbledon, this match could give him the match play that he didn’t get prior to the tournament.

    • lol…you’l never give djokovic credit, ed πŸ˜› it was an awesome display of sportsmanship, nothing else… when the point is so big, you cannot pretend …

      • At RG IN 2011, it was set point to Lorenzi against Rafa and Rafa conceded a point to him and has done it countless times. Djoker and Rafa do it all the time much more than Fed and Muzz.

      • You’re right. It was a display of good sportsmanship and it is curmudgeonly of me to say it was a calculated risk.

      • Rafa never played Lorenzi at RG in 2011 !, are you talking about rome?

yes, rafa also concedes points… but this one here by djokovic was quite remarkable… cleaning a ball mark on clay before the umpire comes is good sportsmanship but in that scenario its delaying the inevitable because the umpire will eventually check…rafa , has however, conceded some points portraying great spirit..

I agree that rafa and nole concede the most points…

      • @vamosrafa,

You are absolutely correct. That was a crucial point in the match. If Novak was broken at that point, then Steps would be serving to win the fourth set and send it into a fifth set. In this instance, I give Novak credit for doing that.

Of course, Rafa concedes points. He is a great sportsman. But what does Novak conceding a critical point in a match have to do with Rafa/

      • Maybe Nole felt bad for when his racquet went over the net vs Muzz and he didn’t concede the point and is now trying to make up for it.

  1. Please tell me that they won’t have to close the roof for Rafa’s match!

Rafa needs to take it to Rosol and dispense with him once and for all!

  2. ^^Hawkeye, you and I think alike. When I saw the Step/Berdy bit on another website, the old SNL Martin/Aykroyd skits were the first thing I thought of. Those wild and crazy Czechs….

  3. Play of the Day belonged to Steps. So would have been a good match, no.
