RC!..LOL!!….U really should change your team name now!!…NO wildguess!!..coz I tend to make a really wildguess it seems!!hahaha…How about ‘RC The Smarty Pants & Co[with their own smarty pants of coz!!]’…
Btw…U ROOOCCKKK!! in Tokyo!!…Oppss!!…Who’s at the bottom??Yeaahhh!!…FD!!….Ohohohohoho!!…C’mon rc!!…Keep on doing it!!..Wooohooo!!
There’s life but it barely has a pulse right now because of Asian Swing hours. I had to work the last 3 days. But I stayed up late to watch some WTA.
My report from Seoul is that I like the Australian baby Pricsilla Hon. Saw her win her match – she beat the veteran Dutchie Arantxa Rus. But I don’t know if she can beat the next Dutchie, Richel Hogenkamp – that would be tough but it may take 3 sets and then go either way.
Haddad Maia the tall Brazillian power hitter can probably beat Sara Sorribes Tormo maybe in 3.
Cristea over Kumkum of course.
Ostapenko over Veronica Cepede Royg. Should be in 2. VCR nearly lost to Kristi Ahn last match and Ostapenko kicked Nao Hibino’s butt, 62 62.
Tokyo 2 — where the big stars are:
Muguruza over Garcia (even though my bracket pick was Garcia because I thought Mugu might not try hard in Tokyo, Mugs appears to be enjoying herself there.
Strycova outfoxed Konta in two tight sets. I’m not sure if Konta was playing her best but Stycova is quite a fit all court player and can be tricky. Pavlyuchenkova barely made it past Q.Wang in her first round match. Pavs is slightly favored but I thin Strycova has a good shot. 3 sets.
Kerber over Karolina Pliskova. Kerber looked sharp beating Kasatkina and I think she can beat the tall one – maybe 3 sets. Kerber wants a win.
Wozniacki is coming off a tough 3 set win vs Shelby Rogers but maybe that’s exactly what she needed to get sharpened up for Cibulkova. But knowing Cibby, Caro will need three sets to beat her.
Krunic is hot. She covers the court gracefully – She can take down the tall Belgian, Wikmayer! Maybe 3 sets
Zhang is playing well and can beat Rodina, I think. Might be in 2 tight sets.
Boy oh boy did I do some bad picking in TDC this week!!
But there will be some great Quarterfinals in Wuhan:
Garbine Muguruza vs Jelena Ostapenko
Karolina Pliskova vs Ashleigh Barty
Ekaterina Makarova vs Caroline Garcia (I think Andi Mira got this one right maybe)
Alize Cornet vs Maria Sakkari
Tashkent (surprising stuff!!)
Vera Zvonareva vs Aleksandra Krunic (Nice to see Vera’s form coming along)
Kateryna Kozlova vs Aryna Sabelenka (I don’t know either one)
Karumi Nara vs Kateryna Bondarenko
Timea Babos vs Stefanie Voegele
My Tashkent winner pick was Babos and I still think it’s possible ๐ As for all the others, I don’t know.
Leaders list for Race to Singapore:
1. Garbine Muguruza
2. Simona Halep
3. Karolina Pliskova
4. Elina Svitolina
5. Caroline Wozniacki
6. Venus Williams
7. Jelena Ostapenko
8. Johanna Konta
9. Kiki Mladenovic
10. Svetlana Kuznetsova
Eu live Race updates daily, so is slightly different. And has Karolina Pliskova ahead of Simona because Karolina made the Wuhan Quarterfinals. And the Eu live Race also gives the dividing line as tho who has qualified or not. According to this, Ostapenko, Konta, Mladenovic and Kuzentsova fall below the line! http://live-tennis.eu/en/wta-race
Thanks for posting those links about Simona and Karolina to me on FB, Mira Andi.
Seems neither one are much interested (or will admit to being interested) in being #1.
Watched the replay of both Ostapenko’s and Muguruza’s 3rd round matches: Ostapenko vs Puig and Muguruza vs Linette and it took both Ostapenko and Mugu 3 sets to win their matches. I thought Ostapenko was serving better than in Seoul last week. The most impressive match win was the tight 2 set Garcia over Cibulkova. Both were playing very well and motivated. But Garcia just better than Cibby, surprisingly. Maybe something is wrong with Dominika that I don’t
Garcia vs Makarova should be a good QF. But it’s at 2 am, my time. So the match I most likely can watch live is Muguruza v Ostapenko. Mugu leads the h2h 2-0 and is looking very comfortable as WTA #1. But if Jelena is serving well, it could be a great match.
Hey hey hey hey My WTA Queen is baaaacckkkkk!!….Woooooo!!…yes!!……rc!!…Wuhan is unbelievable this week!!.oh My God!!….The 1st Rd clearing of the Big Girls…and yesterday Aga too!!…And the underdogs…Oh God!!….i think we should pay attention more to them now rc..But,the problem is…to WHO??All ofthem r very capable to make an upsets..that’s for sure…
And this is special congrats o ToMMo & his Caro for winning a title at last!!!!YAYYYY!!!…..I’m very happy too for her!…
And BIG BIG BIG CONGRATS to rc too for an ASTOUNDING picking in Tokyo Bracket!!….Wooooooo!!!….That’s My Queen!!…That’s okay about this week Bracket rc,we will do better next time k?Can’t wait to discuss with u when we make a pick Smarty Pants!!Hehehehe…..
Thanks MA and everybody! ๐ Caro <3 wooooon ๐ I was very happy…but I couldn't open Tenngrand until this time…don't know why. :/
Wozibaby has to go some rounds in Beijing then go for the WTA Finals trophy! ๐ That's the dream for this year.
I couldn’t open tenngrand website…always got error messages. But finally it works for me again.
Yeah in TDC after the grand slam I had some rest…then this week I just missed to fill the brackets…I forgot to… ๐ But next week I’ll be back! In Beijing! ๐
Hope you watched some the matches from Wuhan. Ashley Barty had too much energy and fight for Karolina. That was a surprise.
Garcia over Makarova…I fell asleep but Garcia has been hot!
Congratz to Maria Sakkari getting win over Cornet!
And the match of the day… Ostapenko’s fight coming back from losing the first set 6-1 – to grab the win away from the #1 Muguruza!
Why is “my favourite pick today is Hibino/Kalashnikova”?
Why the below picks also?
Krunic over Zvonareva (tough one)
Nara over Bondarenko
I have the same picks as yours.
I think the veteran Zvonareva is in a zone(in great form besides having the size/power advantage) and might edge out this match in 3 sets (or 2 tight) as Krunic is tired. I hope the extra days rest(due to postponement. Rain?) is enough for Krunic to recover from her last week’s exploits @Guangzhou!
She’s got her fight on MA. I thought this 3rd set would be all Mugs. But my girl keeps fighting – it’s hard. She’s not getting enough first serves in and Mugs just kills it. Wohooooo Ostapenko holds – it’s 3-3 in the decider. Sam Sumyk her coach telling her to stand her ground, push her back and change direction more.
Whoever wins this will give Barty a fight. But Ostapenko has a break now. Wow. She has to serve well and it’s been a little shaky lately. Too many 2nd serves but Mugs goes for too much. Haha! Ostapenko holds for a 5-2 lead in the decider. Woot!
But this isn’t over until the last point. Garbine holds here and Jelena will be pressured to serve it out.
Oh my God rc!!….Penko won???Ohohohohohoho!!..When she lost the 1st set,i thought she’s done!…Mugu was dominating her in the 1st set…But,this is new Penko surely rc,she shown her mental strength a la FO back…Now,the question is…how far we’re going to pick her in Beijing? And how far we’re going to pick other underdogs? And which Big Girls we wants to pick to go deep?R they ready to fight at last??They’re not fatigue anymore?R they alrready can adapt to the Asian conditions?…Urgh!!…there’s so may things to consider rc!!
Unbelievable Jelena has 2 break points by putting so much pressure on the world #1 serve and takes the match 1-6 6-3 6-2! Woot! but Ash Barty is looking tough the way she beat Karolina Pliskova!! Into another SF.
Muguruza, Karo Pliskova, Halep, Svitolina, Wozniacki, and Venus all had made the cut!
The cut is made at 4486 points.
#7 Ostapenko now has 4121 points and close to qualifying after winning Seoul and making the SF run in Wuhan. But she needs to win Wuhan to qualify this week. If not, there’s still Beijing, Hong Kong, Tianjin, Linz, Luxembourg, and Moscow left — but it’s down to the wire for many.
#8 Konta – 3655 points (lost in Wuhan R32)
#9 Mladenovic – 2876 points (lost in Wuhan R64)
#10 Kuznetsova – 2847 points (lost in Wuhan R32)
#11 Vandeweghe – 2754 points and she didn’t play Wuhan
#12 Stephens – 2712 points (lost in Wuhan R64)
#13 Sevastova – 2345 points (lost in Wuhan R64)
#14 Garcia – 2305 points; and she’s into Wuhan SF – could go to #10, if she wins Wuhan.
#15 Keys – 2215 points (lost in Wuhan R64)
Still playing in Wuhan are distant underdogs, Ashleigh Barty at #20 but with a win in Wuhan she could jump up to #13!!
Maria Sakkari is #50 but if she wins Wuhan she will be #27, which will be great for her seeding going into 2018 and seeded for AO!
Many of the usual players that make the Tour Final are just not even close to qualifying for Singapore this year, sadly.
But there’s always the other WTA final Zhuhai, China, the week after Singapore.
And 12 singles will qualify for Zhuhai – usually those that just missed the Singapore cut are invited.
2016 Zhuhai winner was Petra Kvitova and Venus won in 2015.
I love this time of year : the race to the 2017 finals!
Your welcome Alison. That’s why I post the highlight. Seems hardly anyone gets to watch WTA and it’s dang good tennis this fall!! I’m happy you enjoyed it — I especially loved the Ostapenko’s never die attitude.
I got OVER in the Jelena_Ostapenko_vs_Ashleigh_Barty Match as the winner. Both have gone to 3 sets in their last 3 matches. Being a bit tired both will need a 3rd set to decide the winner! Their only H2H also went to 3 sets.
If the โHit or miss Ostpenkoโ can play with a error free game, she will smash all the top 10 players in 2 sets! Unfortunately that is not so and will take some time. Until then Ostapenko will always lose a set against top players and duke it out in the 3rd set to either win or lose!
In Maria_Sakkari_vs_Caroline_Garcia match, I got Garcia ML and -1,-2(upto -4 or more in LB) to win.
Garcia has too much fire power and experience for the fast developing Sakkari. Sakka will make it a dog fight if possible and over may hit .
Who you got and what is your detailed logic/analysis?
Glad to know it wasn’t hacked, Ricky, as the message that came up for me when I tried to access the site was, “This site may have been hacked…” I still had a feeling that it was strictly not working on my phone for some reason, and that everyone was still having fun on Grandstand without me. ๐ I know it sounds selfish, but there is a part of me that was secretly glad that it was down for everyone because that meant I wasn’t left out of the action haha! ๐
@Roger….I agree with your choice about Tashkent…Tho Bondarenko also can make an upset being an underdog..she knows she can play freely without pressure but she’salso can be overwhelmed by the much younger opponent & much stamina Nara…
Wuhan…I like both player’s very much…but, since i like Barty more & want her to make her 1st final,i will pick her…BUT,she’s also can be a victim to the new rejuvenation & much younger Penko…Penko showed her new found mental strength yesterday against Mugu..and i like what i saw…But,her mental strength as impressive as we can see yesterday still a little bit behind compared to Barty…Barty already slayed 3 Big Girls this week against Konta,Aga & Karolina…her confidence must be high too….tho she won all her matches in 3 sets[and could caught up with her today]…But like i said,i will pick Barty[tho,i will not surprised if Penko won,she has that ability]…
Sakkari vs Garcia….I will pick Sakkari…i really like to see her play yesterday..so confident..she play like she don’t have a care in the world…and that is a very dangerous thing when you’re on court…But,Garcia too can generate a win of her own too…Both r very capable of winning…
I went with Nara couple of days ago. Today in LB I went big with Bondarenko seeing how strong she was besides her ability to dominate Nara with her power game.
I too like Barty to win. But I fear the demonic power and determination of Ostapenko. If Ostapenko makes a lot of errors then Barty can take advantage and win. I give Barty 51% chance for winning as she is the more consistent player of the two coming in with greater momentum with 3 great wins. But, I am going with the over here as both are strong players and both can win.
I love the new look Sakkari. She has worked on her strength and conditioning and has made her shoulders strong enabling her to power serve and power return. Besides, Sakkari has adopted the Wozniaki strategy of putting as many balls in play forcing her opponent to make some errors. But this strategy might not work against Garcia who can smash many of Sakkari’s weak returns and close the game fast. Garcia’s extreme power along with her vast experience will be too much for Sakkari in the end. If Garcia lowers her level than Sakkari can capitalize.
Ahh, these time zones…I’m just too late here. ๐
Bondarenko made an upset again…and Zvonareva is really making her comeback well. And I think she can beat Bondarenko tomorrow. I really want a Zvonareva – Babos final there. Let’s go Timi! ๐
Hibino/Kalashnikova won easily as my favourite pick. But against Bondarenko/Krunic I can’t go with them again.
Garcia is a reasonable pick today. She is in a really good form.
And I can’t even say anything about Ostapenko vs Barty…It can be a great match. Maybe 3 sets. ๐
Strange week in Wuhan but the last few matches have been amazing. I wouldn’t like to pick a winner between Barty/ Ostapenko but hope the Aussie gets it.As I’m in the UK timezone I’m usually watching at least 15 hours later on catchup and it’s hard to avoid seeing the results.
This has to be my fellow hungarian Timiiiii ๐ So Babos has to win both of the trophies.
In Wuhan it goes to 3 sets I think.
And of course in Beijing: Wozi, Halep, Konta MUST WIN…and Kasatkina too. ๐
ToMMO, yup, I favor baboon to win. But Bonds(renko) is tough and is the local fav with 100% crowd support. It should be a 3 setter like Bond’s SF match, I think. Baboon should win as she is the better returner and has the greater experience to boot.
Do you trust Halep and Mladenovic to win even tho they are playing lower ranked opponents. Riske is playing well again and might upset Halep, I think. I analyzed that match just now again.
Cirstea is flakey (plays 1 game good and the next bad). Can we bet Cirstea confidently to win against Bartel who is up and down herself?
ToMMo, as feared above, Baboon seems to have a bad day (knew Bonds is a very tough chick especialy @home) and lost in the Tashkent finals in 2 straight sets. Lost on Baboon ML bet but won the big bet + 4.5 bet on Bonds…but not on James Bonds!lol
Baboon was very angry that she lost and cried (really felt bad for baboon as she has given me good profits the last couple of months and before @ The Budapest Open!) during 2nd set. She will be in a revengeful mood and will try to smash her opponents in the Women’s doubles finals.
BOL to Baboos and party (Hlavackova). Go get the doubles baby (baboon)!lol
If Mladenovic wins then it will be a clean WTA sweep today! Put a little on the over as Ding Ding oops…I mean Ying Ying and Mladenovic are both out of form and just anything in this world can happen. Mladenovic is more out of form than Ding Ding. Dings is also having some shoulder injury. Over should hit here as the 2 flakey fighters will break and counter break each other. If Mladenovic can regain her form here, she should smash Ding Ding and Ding Ding head should ring Ding Ding!lol, as Mladenovic is the far superior skilled fighter who cannot lose more than 8 matches in a row as she is the World No.15 damn it!
Did anyone follow and make some good profits? Experts, make hay when the sun shines!lol
Nooo for Mladenovic…I mean…I don’t trust her at the moment. But I knew that Halep has to get herself together…and I think Woz must do the same and Konta too. That’s why I prefer in the first round these 3 lovely women. ๐
Timi was weak today…mentally…as always…I don’t know if you know that I am hungarian Roger, so maybe my emotions made that wrong pick in the final. :/ But I am glad that she could made a trophy in doubles of course. ๐ She is one of the best doubles player… ๐
ToMMo, you are very correct about this emotions thing. In betting, there should be no emotional attachment to any player, even tho he may be handsome (Jr. Zverev) or beautiful like the French Goddess or they may be someone from my USA like Serena Williams. Need to just go with the winners even if we dislike him/her!
My analysis led to a win for Dzumhur so I bet on him and lost. There was also some emotional attachment to Dzumhur, which led to my loss and to the loss of 1000’s here and everywhere in the betting circles. Dzumhur was a big fav with bettors and fans eventho he was the dog on the betting cards. I suspected that Dzumhur will be tired (compared his tiredness with that of Ostapenko in an earlier post) and he was! He did not have the same energy as in the previous rounds. A super fresh Dzumhur (in early rds of this or the previous tournament) would have run circles around Dolgopolov and won comfortably.
I thought of fading Dzumhur a 1000+ times but stuck to him because of emotional attachment probably.
ToMMo and other WTA experts, what are your picks and analysis for ToMo-rrow? I think 80% of the FAV’s will win ToMo-rrow!
ToMMO, just watched a couple of games of Mladenovic vs Ding Ding Yuan.
Mladenovic is not back yet! She is very tentative in her shots, missing many easy shots…showing that she is still not in form and does not have enough practice on hard! Her movement is slow. On hard one have to be fast and able to change directions besides hitting balls hard and accurately on the move.
I think Mladenovic has to wait for the indoor season and fix her issues (mental & physical) fully before that.
Absolutely aggreed about Mladenovic.
Radwanska, Wozniacki, Makarova, Goerges, Svitolina, Konta..and I think Cornet can win too. ๐
ToMMo and other WTA experts (RC, Mira Andi etc.),
I have all the above ladies(Radwanska, Wozniacki, Makarova, Goerges, Svitolina, Konta) plus Siniakova(Stosur not in form) winning today, vandeweghe(vs vekic), Lepchenko(vs Tsurenko) and Lara Arrubaraena(causing upset of the Russian mama Bear!lol).
Can the flakey Andrea Petkovic defeat Kiki Bertens? Possible because she has the H2H adv(both ended in 3 sets) and 2 good wins but over 2 clay players(Tormo & haddadโฆwho play well on hard sometimes) in the Beijing qualies! I think Bertens is the better skilled player on hard. Either can win in 3 sets (or 2 tight). Like the over here.
Can the out of form Russian Bear Svetlana Kuznetsova defeat Lara Arruabarrena? I think who won 2 matches here @Beijing in the qualies has some form and can upset the non-form Kuznetsov. Lara has 2 wins in the qualies(got a very good win over Zarina Diyasโฆwhich would have fine-tuned her game 2 beat bigger players like Kuznetsova) and got used to the hard courts in Beijing. She will start strong and win the 1 st set and put pressure on the bear in the 2nd set and win in 2 or 3 sets.
Can Shelby Rogers upset Shuai Peng? Peng is injured ad tired and thinking tht a fresh Rogers can hit thru peng, make her run and get injured further or tire out further and win.
Can McHale beat the US Open queen Slaone stephens? Stephens is yet to find form after that big USO title win. Seems to be enjoying the USO win and money still. McHale is flakey and never dependable. Over should hit here. Not sure who will win here but Sloane is the fav of the bookies to win.
What do you think ToMMo and other WTA experts (RC, Mira Andi etc.)?
Thanks for notifying me about Vinci, MA.
I will miss her tennis and her energy. But her stellar career in doubles especially and her us open runner-up to Flavia Pennetta 2015 US Open will live on ๐ Good luck, Roberta!
in the same Rolex Cellini Replica style as the team replica watches. I find the engraving far more satisfying, but would have liked to see a bit more depth to it. There is a little more branding on the PRC200. Firstly, Burberry handbags the 6 oกฏclock sub-dial sports a basketball image in grey. Additionally, the pushers are edged with red (top) and blue (bottom), Breitling Replica Watches UK which is, to me, the coolest thing.
