I think you are on to something with your comment about expectations and pressure. Rafa has stayed at the top of this sport for over ten years. That is an amazing feat. But it comes at a price. I guess his little tics are part of that price, how he deals with it.
When one is young, there is no pressure, no expectations. You come out and play fearlessly and with abandon. But then it changes.
I think you really hit it spot on!
Rafa received an award from the Mallorcan magazine ENKI dedicated to culture, art, fashion, health. Vanessa H.Rado (an actress, model, singer and TV host) presented him with the award on Monday because he won’t attend the Charity Gala to be held in March.

Rafael Nadal: ´It´s Hard to Switch from Hard Courts to Clay´
To switch from hard courts to clay courts is always tough. I have to get used to the movements and the routine I would normally go through when playing on clay. But the tough conditions here, with cold and wind, have made it hard to practice properly (because of that, Rafael should be heading to Rio very soon). I have to find back my confidence, the consistency and the level necessary to compete at the maximum level” Rafael was quoted saying.
